March 7, 2012 | The 24th Annual High-Tech Small Business Conference will be held on Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Westin LAX Hotel, located at 5400 Century Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045. http://acquisition.jpl.nasa.gov/boo/2012HT/index.asp The registration fee is $150 per person which includes two continental breakfasts, two lunches, networking receptions and program materials. Room rates at the Westin are $125.00 single/double occupancy. Parking fees at the Westin are $12.00 for self-parking and $28.00 for valet. In-and-out privileges are for overnight guests only. You will have an opportunity to influence how the SBJA provisions are implemented as well as to hear first-hand the concerns and issues as expressed by our small business customers. Senior SBA Headquarters and Field Office officials and policy makers will be conducting 13 nationwide events, including one in San Diego on April 11. In addition to being a part of these important discussions, you will have an opportunity to offer input on SBJA provisions including the following contracting topic areas: 1) Multiple Award Contract Set-Asides; 2) Subcontracting: misrepresentations, plan improvements and timeliness of payment; 3) Mentor Protégé Programs for women, HUBZone and Service Disabled Veteran firms; 4) Presumption of Loss to the Government due to willful misrepresentation of size and annual certification of size; 5) Size Standards; and, 6) other key SBJA provisions.
